Here’s the perfect spot to sit and relax before going out for the evening or enjoying a nightcap before you retire.
Our honesty bar is open at all times, exclusively for our guests. Help yourself to drinks; and make a note on the pad so the cost can be added to your bill on departure.
You’ll also find a folder of sample menus from local restaurants. We’re always happy to make recommendations for dining out and visiting local attractions.

Jeake’s House was built as a wool store in 1689, and the ancient cellar shelves are still visible in the Parlour. In Winter, we keep the fire lit. It’s a cosy place just to sit and relax, chat and plan your visit, play cards or board games, or even try the piano.

Poached eggs on a toasted muffin with spinach and topped with hollandaise sauce, lightly dusted with paprika and chives.
Eggs Royale
Poached eggs on a toasted muffin with smoked salmon topped with hollandaise sauce, lightly dusted with paprika and chives.
Scottish smoked Salmon
Served with free range scrambled eggs and chives.
Avocado on buttered toast
Served with lemon juice, fresh basil, chilli and poached egg.
Traditional Oak Smoked Haddock
Topped with a soft poached Egg.

A Victorian recipe of spiced lambs’ kidneys served with mushrooms, tomato and buttered toast
Rye Rarebit
Toasted cheddar on walnut bread, mango chutney, sesame seeds, poached egg and grilled tomato.
